Frequently Asked Questions

Fit And Scope

Who is CGE Insights designed for?

CGE Insights is designed for membership organizations that want a clearer view of member engagement across systems and a more structured way to identify members who may need attention. It is especially useful for teams managing engagement across an AMS, email platform, website, and other disconnected sources.

Do we have to replace our AMS or CRM?

No. Your AMS remains the system of record. CGE Insights is designed to work alongside the systems you already use. Every plan accepts CSV uploads of your member roster alongside website activity. The Growth plan adds direct connections to HubSpot, Novi AMS, and Mailchimp, which keep that information synchronized without a manual export.

What if we don't use Novi AMS?

You can still use CGE Insights. CSV roster uploads work on every plan, and the Growth plan also connects HubSpot and Mailchimp directly. The goal is to bring relevant member activity into one place without requiring a system migration.

What does each plan include?

Essentials covers website tracking, CSV roster uploads, disengagement signals, recommended next actions, and the Strategy Advisor with 50 AI credits each month. Growth adds the direct HubSpot, Novi AMS, and Mailchimp connections, review-and-approve outreach, member activity history, outbound webhooks, and 150 AI credits each month. Intelligence adds comparisons across member groups, programs, and reporting periods, the renewal dues overview, leadership summaries, and 300 AI credits each month. Every plan receives the same signals and recommended actions. The full list is on the pricing page.

How is this different from Google Analytics?

Analytics is built around traffic. CGE is built around people — one engagement timeline per member, across your connected channels.

Can I use Google Analytics data with CGE Insights?

Not directly. CGE Insights does not connect to Google Analytics today. Google Analytics reports on website traffic without names or email addresses, so its data can't be matched to individual members. CGE uses its own website tracker instead, which adds a visit to a member's timeline once that person is identified, such as when they fill out a form, and where consent allows. You can keep using Google Analytics for traffic and marketing reports alongside CGE.

Getting Started

What data do we need to get started?

At minimum, you need a member roster with enough information to identify members. Additional sources — such as email engagement and website activity — give CGE more context around changes in engagement.

How much work does implementation require from our team?

CGE Insights is designed to minimize implementation overhead. Most of the setup involves connecting supported data sources, adding the website tracking script where applicable, and importing or syncing your member roster.

How long before CGE starts showing useful information?

CGE can begin organizing and surfacing available signals once your data sources are connected. The amount of context available depends on the data your organization connects and the history contained in those sources.

How It Decides

How does CGE decide that a member needs attention?

CGE compares a member's recent engagement with that member's earlier activity. When the change crosses defined thresholds, the member can surface for review along with the signals that contributed to the flag.

Do you predict who will churn?

No. CGE Insights does not currently predict renewal outcomes. It identifies meaningful changes in engagement relative to a member's own history and shows you the signals that made them surface.

Can we see why someone was flagged?

Yes. CGE shows the activity and engagement signals behind the flag so your team can review why the member surfaced before deciding what action to take.

What happens if CGE gets a recommendation wrong?

Your team makes the final decision. Recommendations are presented with the underlying signals so staff can review the reasoning before taking action. Actions and outcomes can also be recorded so the system maintains a history of what was done and what followed.

Everyone says AI. What's actually AI here?

Two things. The Strategy Advisor and the help assistant run Google Gemini. The recommendation engine is not AI — it's a set of rules with thresholds you can read.

Who Stays In Control

Does CGE automatically take action on our members?

No. CGE can recommend a next step and draft outreach, but your team remains in control of whether to act and what ultimately gets sent.

Do you send emails for us?

Only when you say so. CGE drafts the message, someone on your team reviews and edits it, and it sends through your own connected email account only after they approve it. Nothing sends automatically.

Member Data And Privacy

Is our member data shared with other organizations?

No. Your data stays in your account. What gets pooled is de-identified counts and rates — no names, no emails, no organization names — and only above the 50-member, 3-organization floor.

Do the comparisons in Intelligence use other organizations' data?

No. Those comparisons are built only from your own records — your members, your outreach, your programs. The pooled, de-identified counts and rates described in these answers are separate and never appear in them.

Can we opt out of cross-organization learning?

Yes. Organizations can opt out of pooled, de-identified learning. Participation is reciprocal, so organizations that opt out do not contribute data to or receive insights from the shared findings layer.

Can CGE identify anonymous website visitors?

CGE does not inherently know the identity of an anonymous visitor. When permitted data and identification signals later connect activity to a known member, CGE can associate eligible earlier activity with that member's engagement timeline.

How do I connect Eventbrite?

In Eventbrite, open Account settings, then Developer links, then API keys, and create a key. Eventbrite shows you several values; copy the one labelled private token. Paste it into the Eventbrite card under Events in your CGE Insights integration settings. CGE works out which Eventbrite organization the token belongs to, so there is nothing else to enter. If the token can see more than one organization, CGE will refuse it and tell you, because it cannot know which organization's attendance you meant. CGE reads attendees of your events and counts check-ins. It does not read ticket prices, fees, registration question answers, or attendee addresses. An attendee who is not already one of your members is ignored, so connecting Eventbrite never adds anyone to your member list.

What is CGE Insights' current security status?

Member data is read server-side only, and the database refuses direct access from a browser. Connected provider credentials and webhook URLs are encrypted with Fernet. Sessions end on both idle time and an absolute limit, outbound webhooks are HMAC-signed, administrative actions are written to an audit log, and member names and email addresses are never sent to the AI model. CGE Insights carries technology errors and omissions insurance with a cyber endorsement. It does not currently hold SOC 2 or other formal security certifications. Additional monitoring and certification capabilities are part of the platform's continued development. The full list of controls is on the home page and in the Trust Center.

Before You Book

What would you actually show us during a demo?

During the demo, we'll walk through how CGE connects member activity, how someone surfaces for attention, what signals contributed to the flag, and what next action CGE recommends. Where appropriate, a sample of your own data can be used to make the walkthrough more relevant to your organization.
